Along with partners, NOVOMATIC has developed the Corporate Coding Academy (CCA), a training site for future company game developers, and will be searching for suitable participants as of the July 1. Starting in November 2018, the ‘coding heroes’ of tomorrow will take part in a high-quality, customized 6-month program and become Junior Game Developers.

We need game developers, and our plan is to use this program, unique in Austria, to ensure that our new recruits are perfectly trained,” Dr. Klaus Niedl, Global HR Director at NOVOMATIC, summarizes the idea behind this training initiative.

This unique training program for future game developers is taught by very experienced specialists from the software and game development industries. In addition to technical input, the participants will receive insight into game studios and their game development processes.

The 6-month training program is divided into three stages, each eight weeks long, and will take place at three game studios in Vienna (Greentube) and Gumpoldskirchen (NOVOMATIC). A combination of online and traditional training offers flexible ‘on the job’ learning, and is designed to help maintain a work-life balance. Building on previous knowledge, the Corporate Coding Academy teaches total game development and associated programming languages such as C++ and SDL/OpenGL. Participants will be selected based on a multi-step selection process; the training will not cost Corporate Coding Academy students anything.

NOVOMATIC is also exploring a new selection process for the Corporate Coding Academy. A ‘serious game’ is used in the evaluation process in order to discover the technical and analytical competencies of the candidates in a playful and entertaining manner.

VizExplorer, a leading provider of operational intelligence solutions for casinos, announced the execution of a new license agreement to deploy its floorViz™ and campaignViz™ solutions at Camel Rock Casino, operated by the Pueblo of Tesuque.

The New Mexico-based casino exists in a highly competitive market with several other gaming properties nearby. To mitigate the competition, the Tesuque Pueblo tribe announced last year its plans to build a replacement casino on tribal land near the Santa Fe Opera.

Seeking to secure its player base and optimize revenues at the new casino, Camel Rock selected VizExplorer to uncover insights it needs to make informed, profitable business decisions going forward. Using VizExplorer’s floorViz, the team will determine which games to keep, which new games to invest in, and where to place them on the new gaming floor. The marketing team will employ campaignViz to evaluate and properly incentivize players during the transition to the new casino, and determine an effective player reinvestment strategy.

In the 2018 World Cup final, France defeated Croatia and won the world championship for the second time in its history. Deputy General Director for Trading BC “League of Stakes” Maxim Afanasyev said that the match was a record loss for Russian bookmakers.

“We recorded a record for the loss – 3.5 times more than at the Champions League final. They played all the outcomes, which were mostly put by the clients: the victory of France, the handicap (-1.5) for the French, both will score, goals in both halves, and, of course, all conceivable and inconceivable totals, ” said Mr. Afanasyev.

He also noted that the final match was probably the most record on payments in the entire bookmaker industry.

“The loss on the Russian market from one final match, according to my estimates, is about $ 100 million,” the expert believes.

In the final match of the 2018 World Cup, France defeated Croatia 4: 2.
